About
Stanlow Rifle Club was founded in 1947 by a group of like minded shooting enthusiasts and originally included both shotguns and target shooting. Over the next 40 years the club evolved into a small-bore prone target shooting club and has been located at Whitby Sports and Social Club (previously "The Shell Club") for the last 60 years.
The club is a registered and ratified by the Home Office Registration and our teams compete in the Wirral, Cheshire County and NSRA League competitions run throughout the year.
Shooters can use their own .22LR rifle or a club rifle whilst undergoing training as a "new to shooting" member. The range has a maintenance area, waiting/social area and 4 individual prone position firing points, one of these lanes can also be converted to a seated/bench rest firing point.
The club prides it's self on it's competition heritage, but also welcomes anyone who likes to shoot just for the fun of it!
Experienced, novice, junior and social shooters are all welcome at the club and we currently looking at what can be done to accommodate disabled and movement-limited shooters and we'll update the site as this unfolds.
